Weber State University Pre-Dental Club

The end of year party date has changed to next Friday, April 26th.  It will be from 5-7.  Bring anyone you want since we have the whole place to ourselves.  See you there and we will have some chow!

Congratulations to those elected as presidency for next year!  They will serve the club well and continue to take WSU to the next level.  We will be getting there bio information on soon.  Good luck to all of you next year and years to come!

Hey everyone, below are candidates for presidency this year.  I had a video of each of them giving a speech of why they will be good for you next year but it was having problems loading.  All in all, any one of this group of guys will work hard next year to make the club better.  Vote for your top three by emailing us (wsupredentalclub@gmail.com).  Title the email as votes.  We will announce at the panel meeting this Thursday.  Remember the panel meeting is Thursday at 5:30 in Marriot Health 101.

If you all recall we are starting a peer mentor program for the pre-dental program here at WSU.  If you are interested in being a mentor and/or having someone help you out we can help you.  Send us some basic information of yourself and we can begin pairing you up!  fyi..  Most dental school in the nation have peer-mentor programs set up just like this.  This could be a good way to get used to something like this and get to know your fellow students!  Email the info to wsupredentalclub@gmail.com

I just sent some information about the ADEA conferences that are going on for pre-dental students.  One is in person in Seattle and the other is online this Saturday!

Hey Everyone!

 Tomorrow evening we are having our spring get together.  This meeting is basically going to be information of what is going to be happening this spring.  There is a lot of stuff we are going to do this semester that is new and different.  So we will talk about it this semester and see what you guys think.  We will also talk about the DAT Prep Course.  So if you are interested in that, then come to this meeting!  There are a lot of really important things that we will talk about so come!  And of course, as always, we will have some delicious chow.

This is an email we got from Dr. Adler with DentSim Lab Technology.  It is about a SIM lab course opportunity.  For those who don’t know, these SIM courses are highly useful for you to put on your application and meet prominent people in the profession.  Many of our alumni and current applicants have taken advantage of these and had success.  If you have questions about this then let us know!  If you email Dr. Adler, ask if he is with NYU specifically, we aren’t sure.  Either way, this is a good opportunity.

Greetings from New York City!

We want to invite all the members of your predental society to an Open House Demo Thanksgiving weekend at DentSim Lab in NYC. At the Open House, your members will have a chance to see DentSim dental simulation technology at work. Individuals will be given a chance to drill on plastic teeth with personalized, computer-assisted feedback.

Case Western Reserve University School of Dentistry is coming this Thursday October 18th to meet with our school. Philip Aftoora, a member of the admissions committee for the school will be arriving around 1 PM to do personal interviews with a dozen students (Sign up sheet for interviews is located in Susan Himelright’s office). After interviews, at 5:30, Philip will be doing a presentation for all students about Case Western and the admissions process. There will be plenty of food provided by the club for your enjoyment. Also, Spouses/significant others are encouraged to come to the meeting at 5:30 if available.
